Bill Lear is known for the famous "Lear Jet" and is one of the most flamboyant men I have ever known.

Once he called and said that he was coming into El Paso and was going to sit in the back of his plane and let it land itself. Naturally we jumped into the car and raced to the airport. We were glad to see his plane land safely. Bill had developed one of the first Autopilot.

He was such a creative genius. One of his family's Christmas cards brought us much laughter. Bill, his wife Moya, and their numerous children were all up in a huge tree, each sitting on a different limb.

Today Moya Lear continues his legacy of manufacturing airplanes.
